Health Facts About Tea Compared to Coffee
Tea’s antioxidants protect your body from the ravages of aging and the effects of pollution.

Tea has less caffeine than coffee! Coffee usually has two or three times the caffeine of tea. An eight ounce cup of coffee contains around 135 mg. of caffeine; tea only contains 60 to 80 mg.

Healthy Ways To Serve Tea
Serve lemon slices, not wedges with hot tea and never use milk and lemon in the same cup. The acid in the lemon will cause the milk to curdle.

Tea will become too bitter to drink if loose leaves are left in the pot. If you don’t use a filter, use a tea strainer and decant the tea before covering the pot with a cozy.

Choose Your Water Carefully
For a perfect pot of tea, use bottled or filtered water. Remember, a cup of tea is primarily water, so the water you use will affect the flavor and clarity.

Aromas, Flavors and Color Vary Between Types of Tea
Black, red and herbal teas steep longer and hotter than green or white teas. The longer steep time allows the tea the freedom to release its aroma, flavor and color.

Red and herbal teas are not from the plant, Camellia Sinensis, that produces the tea leaf. Red (Rooibos) and herbal teas are produced from entirely different plants than the Camellia Sinensis;Gourmet Black Tea therefore, do not contain the same properties, such as, tannins, that will emit the bitterness produced by the tea leaf being over steeped.

Black tea is a fully fermented tea leaf and can handle the shock of hot water, it enables the tea to release the essential oils.
